Juana Bordas emigrated to the U.S. from Nicaragua on a banana boat when she was four. The youngest daughter in a family of eight, she was the first to go to college. She learned leadership from her hard-working parents especially her mother, Maria, who cooked food and scrubbed floors in the school lunchroom. Their vision, determination, and sacrifice taught Juana the very essence of Servant Leadership. These early experiences provided Juana with a deep desire to give back, to positively contribute to society, and to support other Latinas.
Juana has authored two books and is a motivational speaker and workshop presenter for conferences and businesses. The recipient of numerous awards and honors, she was inducted into the Colorado Women’s Hall of Fame in 1997. Juana currently serves as the President of Mestiza Leadership International.
In this episode, I speak with Juana Bordas about her mission and the impact she is making in the world.
