“I’m head of marketing in Storydoc. The company itself is a presentation maker for businesses. We create high stakes presentations that need to do three things to make it worth the price: stand out, drive attention and kind of make it stick throughout the content, and drive people to act.”

A typical day for Amotz is anything but typical. He explains:

“Well, I have a kind of lean startup work style. It really depends on the week or a couple of weeks we’re talking about. In the past week or so, I’ve been doing redos, which is just a fancy name for going over some of our oldest content and making sure it’s rewritten with all the lessons we’ve learned over the past two years.”

“We experimented a lot with writing with AI, and we actually created some very good content. If you read it, you wouldn’t know it’s made by AI. But sadly, Google does know, and AI detectors can easily find out if it’s AI-generated content, even if it has a degree of edit.”

While AI-generated content showed promise, the challenge of detection and demotion by search engines led Storydoc to rely more on manual processes for certain tasks. However, AI still plays a crucial role, especially in automation and research.

“It’s just a very powerful tool, especially now with the new 4.0 model. We use an extension called AIPRM that lets you share prompts within a team, which streamlines a lot of the content creation processes.”

Despite exploring other AI tools like Gemini and Jasper, ChatGPT’s customization capabilities make it the go-to tool for Storydoc’s specific needs.

“Storytelling is our business. Storydoc is a business storytelling machine. It makes it easy for businesses to create an interactive story, not the cliché type, but one that breaks down complex information into visually appealing, digestible bits and bytes.”

“We focus on as few variables as we can in our OKRs (Objectives and Key Results), primarily on two metrics: traffic and something we call ‘view wizard,’ which tracks users interested in creating a presentation.”

“We have a surprisingly high conversion rate from the website—around 30%. For our sales deck creator, the conversion rate is even higher at 70%!”
